DYNAvel determines the actual solids velocity using absolute transit-time measurement. The system continuously detects the movement of the solids and determines how long the material takes to travel between defined measurement points. Because the measurement is contact-free and based on absolute values, the system does not require calibration and is able to automatically adapt across a wide range of material densities.
This makes DYNAvel particularly useful for optimizing pneumatic conveying systems, where conveying velocity directly affects energy consumption, pipe wear, and product degradation. Monitoring the actual solids velocity allows operators to optimize conveying air usage, reduce unnecessary wear, and achieve gentler material transport.
Beyond velocity monitoring, DYNAvel can also serve as an important measurement component in a mass-flow measurement system. When combined with a separate concentration measurement, such as microwave or radiometric measurement, the velocity value can be used to continuously determine the mass flow of bulk solids.
The system uses a modular sensor and communication architecture, with DYNAcon providing communication and parameterization. Up to ten DYNAvel measuring points can be connected through the digital communication line, making the system suitable for installations with multiple measurement locations.
